Standard Website Package - £449

If you're looking for a website to distinguish yourself from the competition, then look no further than the Standard Website Package. Priced extremely competitively under £400, it retains all the features and benefits of the basic package with additional email addresses, animated images created from pictures provided by you, and a complete typography service - with a rough outline of what you want the website to say, as much or as little of the content as desired can be created for you.

Blog/Portfolio Website Package - £199

More and more people are finding their voice on the internet, and if you'd like to join them then I can provide a stylish and elegant website for just that purpose for under £200. This package is also the perfect opportunity for somebody looking for a site to promote themselves or their career, and at a lower price than a business might expect to pay. Please note that this package is only available to private individuals and sole traders.

Component Prices

Accessibility

All of our web pages are designed with accessibility in mind, and should work on all modern browsers, for PC and Mac. They will comply with W3C standards unless explicitly requested otherwise. We can create alternative versions of webpages to display on specific devices - text only sites to be viewed on mobile devices for example, or low image versions for slower internet connections. It's difficult to attach a price to this sort of service, but each additional platform you require accessiblity for would cost around £60 on top of the package price.

Domain

To register a website with a .com/.net/.org/.info/.co.uk/.org.uk/.biz extension costs £9.95 per annum.

To register a website with a .eu extension costs £16.95 per annum (although this is likely to drop in line with other domain prices over time).

Many of our packages include email addresses at the domain. Say for example you bought a Standard Website Package and registered the domain www.harriers.co.uk. You could then have 25 email addresses @harriers.co.uk, eg james@harriers.co.uk, support@harriers.co.uk etc. Each 10 email addresses in addition to those included in a package are £9.95 per annum.

Hosting/Bandwidth/Storgage

The price of hosting a website is probably the most difficult to estimate, because it is influenced by so many variables. To give a basic guideline, a standard website should cost in the region of £50 a year, rising accordingly depending on your use of media and the number of visitors to your site.

The company that provides our hosting offers substantial discounts for returning customers, so after the first 12 months your hosting costs will drop fairly significantly, allowing us to keep the cost of renewal down.

Content Management

One free text update is included in the price of any website I design, so if you want to change any text in the first 12 months there'll be no additional charge. There is no limit on the amount of text that I'll change the first time, so if your company completely changes direction I'm happy to accomodate you.

For each text update after the first one there will be a charge of £20, either per hour or for every 6 pages I update (based on the assumption that each page takes 10 minutes to update), whichever is larger.

If you're going to need to do regular updates (if the purpose of your website is for content publishing for example), then I can look at implementing a content management system. A popular option is Joomla, which is an open source (read: free!) CMS which can be integrated with a design created specifically for you, meaning that you only pay for the time it takes to do so - all advanced website packages come with Joomla integration included in the price. Alternatively, if you require a CMS unique to your organisation then I can scratch build something using Ruby on Rails, starting at £400 for a basic system.
